Noah’s Ark is a classic Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) game developed and published by Konami in 1989. The player takes on the role of Noah, tasked with saving all of the animals from a great flood. To do this, Noah must collect pairs of animals from various levels while avoiding obstacles such as lightning bolts and other creatures. Once all of the animal pairs have been collected, they are loaded onto Noah’s Ark and the player can proceed to the next level.
The game features two different modes: Story Mode and Vs. Mode. In Story Mode, players take on the role of Noah as he navigates through five different stages, each one requiring him to collect pairs of animals before moving on to the next level. The stages include a river, a forest, a desert, an arctic region and finally Mt. Sinai where God appears to give his blessing upon completion of the task. Throughout each stage there are various obstacles that Noah must avoid while collecting animals such as lightning bolts, rocks, birds and even carnivorous plants. If Noah comes into contact with any of these obstacles or enemies he will lose a life; however if he manages to collect all of the pairs then he will be rewarded with bonus points.
In Vs. Mode two players can compete against each other in either a race or battle mode depending on which option is chosen at the beginning of play. In Race Mode both players compete against each other to see who can collect all their animal pairs first while avoiding obstacles along the way; whereas in Battle Mode two players battle it out directly by throwing items at one another in order to make their opponent lose lives until only one remains standing victorious at the end of play.
Noah’s Ark has proven itself over time to be an enjoyable classic for gamers young and old alike due its simple but engaging gameplay coupled with its charming 8-bit visuals making it still popular amongst NES fans today!
