Classic Concentration is a classic Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) game released in 1988. It is based on the popular television show of the same name, and was developed by Rareware. The object of the game is to match pairs of hidden objects which are revealed when the player selects two tiles at a time. The player must use their memory to remember where certain objects are located in order to make successful matches.
The game begins with a board containing 25 squares, each containing an image or symbol hidden underneath. To begin play, the player must select two squares, one at a time. If there is a match between these two tiles, they will be removed from the board and replaced with new tiles from a deck of cards that contain different images and symbols. If there is no match between the two squares, they will remain face up until another pair is selected. The goal of Classic Concentration is to remove all 25 tiles from the board by making all possible matches before running out of time or turns.
To help players find matches quicker, there are several power-ups available in Classic Concentration that can be used to reveal what is underneath certain squares or even completely clear out an entire row or column of tiles on the board. Additionally, players can also use wildcards that allow them to pick any square on the board regardless of whether it has already been revealed or not.
As players progress through Classic Concentration they will earn points for each successful match they make as well as bonus points for clearing out whole rows and columns on the board. After each round, players will also receive extra points depending on how quickly they were able to complete it and how many mistakes they made during play. At the end of each round, if players have earned enough points they will move onto bonus rounds where they must solve puzzles using only their memory skills to uncover more matching pairs and gain additional points.
Overall, Classic Concentration remains one of the most popular NES games ever released due its simple yet challenging gameplay mechanics and nostalgic appeal due to its connection with its television counterpart. It’s still enjoyed by gamers today as an excellent test for their memory skills and ability to think strategically about how best to solve puzzles quickly and efficiently!
