Prince of Persia is an action-adventure platformer video game developed and published by Brøderbund Software for the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES). It was released in Europe on December 1, 1992 and in North America on December 15, 1992. The game is based on the 1989 computer game of the same name, which was developed by Jordan Mechner for the Apple II.

The NES version of Prince of Persia follows a similar storyline to that of the original Apple II version. Players take control of the titular prince as he attempts to save his beloved princess from the evil Grand Vizier Jaffar. To do this, players must navigate through various levels filled with traps and enemies while collecting items and solving puzzles. Along the way they are aided by a mysterious old man who provides advice and hints throughout their journey.

Gameplay in Prince of Persia consists mostly of platforming elements such as running, jumping, climbing ladders, and avoiding traps. Players must also use weapons such as swords and daggers to defeat enemies or protect themselves from harm. As players progress through each level they will come across treasure chests or other objects containing useful items such as keys or health potions which can help them in their quest. In addition to these traditional platforming elements, Prince of Persia also features some puzzle-solving elements where players must use their wits to solve various puzzles in order to proceed further into the game.

The graphics in Prince of Persia are generally quite good for an NES game; characters are well detailed with large sprites being used for both enemies and allies alike. The backgrounds are also quite detailed with plenty of interactive objects that can be interacted with throughout each level. The music is also quite good with catchy tunes playing throughout each stage that helps keep players engaged in the experience.

Overall Prince of Persia is a great example of early 90’s console gaming at its finest; it has great graphics, fun gameplay mechanics, and a memorable soundtrack that will have you humming along long after you’ve finished playing it. If you’re looking for an enjoyable classic adventure/platformer then look no further than Prince Of Persia on the NES; it’s sure to provide hours upon hours of entertainment!
