Super R.C. Pro-Am is one of the classic racing games for the Nintendo Game Boy that was released in 1991. Developed by Rare and published by Nintendo, Super R.C. Pro-Am was an updated version of their earlier game, R.C. Pro-Am, which was released for the NES in 1988. The game is a top-down racer where players take control of one of eight different radio controlled cars and race against seven computer opponents on a variety of tracks filled with obstacles and power-ups. The goal is to finish first in each race to advance to the next track while collecting coins along the way to upgrade your car’s performance and acquire new parts.
Super R.C. Pro-Am features 8 different cars that can be upgraded with better engines, tires, and other parts as you progress through the game. You can also purchase additional cars from a store between races with the coins you collect during each race for even more customization options. The game features four courses: Dirt Track, Speedway, Waterway, and Skyway – each with their own unique obstacles and power ups such as turbo boosts, hidden jumps, oil slicks, etc., that must be avoided or used to your advantage if you want to win the race!
The graphics are fairly basic but still quite colorful and detailed for its time (1991). The music is upbeat and catchy – it does get repetitive after a while but it still fits perfectly with the fast paced action on screen! The controls are simple yet effective; using only two buttons (the A button accelerates your car while B brakes) makes playing this game very easy so even younger gamers can enjoy it without any difficulty whatsoever!
In addition to its single player mode Super R.C Pro-Am also supports head-to-head multiplayer via link cable allowing up to four players at once – perfect for those long summer days spent playing video games with friends!
Overall Super R.C Pro-Am is an excellent racing game for the Game Boy that offers hours of enjoyment whether playing solo or competing against friends in multiplayer mode! It has aged surprisingly well over time due to its timeless gameplay mechanics and fun presentation which makes it a great choice for anyone looking for some retro gaming nostalgia on Nintendo’s original handheld console!
