The objective of Bomb Jack is to collect all of the bombs on each level, while avoiding enemies and obstacles. The game features thirty levels, with four different bosses, and power-ups to help you along the way.
The game begins with our hero, Bomb Jack, being sent into a series of caves by his mysterious benefactor to collect bombs and save the world from destruction. Players must navigate their way around various platforms while avoiding an array of enemies such as bats, dragons, and robots. As they progress through each level they must use their jumping skills to reach higher platforms and dodge enemy attacks in order to successfully complete their mission. Bombs can be collected by touching them or using special items such as bombs which can be used to blow up walls or enemies blocking your path.
Each level contains a number of hidden items including coins which can be collected for bonus points or extra lives. Collecting all of the bombs in each stage will open a door at the end which leads to the next level. There are also secret levels which can be unlocked after collecting all of the bombs in a certain area. These secret levels contain even more difficult challenges as well as special rewards such as extra lives or points bonuses.
In addition to its great gameplay Bomb Jack has some fantastic graphics for its time. Each level has its own unique look and feel with vibrant colors and detailed sprites making it stand out from other Game Boy titles at the time. The music is also very catchy with upbeat tunes playing throughout each stage adding to the atmosphere of each level perfectly.
Bomb Jack is an incredibly fun game that still stands up today as one of the best games ever created for Nintendo’s Game Boy system thanks to its tight controls, challenging gameplay, great graphics and catchy soundtrack.
