Make My Video: INXS is a music video game developed by Digital Pictures and published by Sega for the Sega CD/Mega-CD console. It was released in 1992 and features music videos from the Australian rock band INXS.
The game allows players to create their own music videos using various clips of the band's performances, as well as pieces of footage from their five music videos at the time. Players can arrange these clips in any order they wish, as well as add transitions, effects and text captions. The game also includes an audio mixing feature that allows players to adjust levels such as volume, treble and bass for each clip individually. Once completed, players can save their creations to the internal memory of the Sega CD/Mega-CD or an external memory device such as a Sega Backup RAM Cartridge or a 3DO Data Library Card, which can be used to share with others or watch later on.
The game consists of five songs; “Need You Tonight”, “Devil Inside”, “New Sensation”, “Suicide Blonde” and “Kiss The Dirt (Falling Down The Mountain)”. Each song has its own unique set of available clips that players can arrange in any order they wish while creating their music video. In addition to arranging the clips themselves, players are able to use various special effects such as fades, wipes and zooms to customize their creation even further.
Overall Make My Video: INXS is an interesting take on both music games and video editing software that gives players creative freedom to make their own unique music videos using footage from some of INXS' most popular songs at the time. While it may not have aged too well due to its limited audio mixing options and dated visuals compared to modern video editing software, it still serves as a nostalgic reminder of a time when people could express themselves creatively through interactive media like this one.
