Terminator 2 - Judgment Day is a side-scrolling action game based on the movie of the same name. It was released for the Sega Genesis Mega Drive in 1992 by Flying Edge. The game follows the events of the movie, with players taking control of either Sarah Connor or her son John as they attempt to stop Skynet from becoming self-aware and wiping out humanity. The game features seven stages, each with their own unique enemies and obstacles.
The first stage is set in an abandoned factory and is focused on defeating T-1000s, robotic enemies that can take on various shapes. Players must use their weapons to destroy them before they reach John and Sarah. The second stage takes place in a hospital where players must traverse across crumbling floors while avoiding turrets and other traps set up by Skynet's forces. The third stage is set in an underground bunker where players must battle through hordes of robotic sentries while searching for a way to reach the top floor and confront Skynet's mainframe computer.
The fourth stage has players infiltrating an armory filled with mini-gun wielding robots that shoot at anything that moves. After defeating these robots, players must find a way to reach the fifth stage which is set inside a hydroelectric dam facility surrounded by deadly laser beams that will instantly kill anyone who touches them. Here, players must use their weapons to disable the security systems so they can access the sixth stage which takes place in an abandoned missile silo filled with heavily armed T-800 Terminators.
The seventh and final stage pits Sarah and John against Skynet itself as they attempt to shut down its mainframe computer before it becomes self-aware and triggers nuclear war across the planet. Players must use their weapons to destroy all of Skynet's defenses before finally confronting it head-on in order to win the game. Terminator 2 – Judgment Day offers intense action gameplay combined with classic platforming elements making it one of the best games ever released for the Sega Genesis Mega Drive console system
