Wheel of Fortune is a classic Sega game gear game based on the popular American game show. It was released in 1992 and is designed for one to four players. The object of the game is to solve a word puzzle by guessing letters to reveal the hidden phrase. The player with the most money at the end of the game wins.
The main menu gives you options to start a new game or continue an existing one. Selecting "New Game" will bring up a screen where you can choose from three difficulty levels: Easy, Medium, and Hard. You can also select how many rounds you want to play, as well as whether or not you want computer opponents to join in. Once all these settings are selected, you'll be taken to the Wheel of Fortune itself.
The wheel consists of 24 spaces with various amounts of money and prizes on them, ranging from $500 - $10,000 in cash or prizes like cars and vacations. Players take turns spinning the wheel and then guessing letters in order to reveal the hidden phrase. If they guess correctly they get that amount of money; if they don't they lose it all! As each round progresses, more letters are revealed until someone solves the puzzle and claims their winnings!
At any time during gameplay, players can buy vowels for 25 coins each (which comes out of their total winnings). After each round is complete there's an option for players to use their winnings to purchase power-ups such as Vowel Power (which allows them to buy two vowels instead of one) and Spin Again (which allows them to spin again even if they didn't guess any correct letters).
Once all rounds are completed, players' winnings are totaled up and a winner declared! If playing against computer opponents, there's also an option for "Head-to-Head Showdown" which pits two players against each other one last time in a special bonus round where they have 60 seconds to solve a phrase using only five letters! Whoever solves it first wins additional prizes!
Wheel of Fortune was hugely popular when it first came out on Sega Game Gear but continues to be enjoyed by gamers today thanks its simple yet addictive gameplay mechanics and timeless charm. Whether playing solo or with friends, Wheel of Fortune remains one of Sega's best games ever created!
