Tails Sky Patrol is a side-scrolling shooter video game released by Sega for the Sega Game Gear in 1995. Developed by Sonic Team, it is the second game to feature Miles Tails Prower, and was the first Sonic game released exclusively for the Game Gear. The game follows Tails on his mission to save Flickies from Dr. Robotnik's latest evil scheme.
The player takes control of Tails as he flies through seven stages, shooting enemies with his trusty biplane, the Tornado. In each stage, the player must defeat enemies and collect rings before reaching a goal post at the end of each level. Along the way, various power-ups can be collected to help Tails on his quest. These include extra lives and bombs that can be used to take out multiple enemies at once.
In addition to shooting enemies, players must also avoid obstacles such as spikes, fireballs and other hazards. Each stage has its own unique set of obstacles that challenge players’ reflexes and coordination skills. As an added bonus, there are secret paths hidden throughout each level that lead to bonus points and items for those brave enough to explore them.
At the end of each stage there is a boss battle against one of Robotnik’s henchmen or machines. Players must use their quick reflexes and knowledge of enemy attack patterns in order to defeat these bosses and progress further into the game. After completing all seven stages, players are rewarded with an ending sequence featuring a special surprise from Tails himself!
Overall, Tails Sky Patrol is an enjoyable side-scrolling shooter with colorful graphics and challenging levels that will keep players coming back again and again. With its simple controls and fast-paced action, this classic Sega Game Gear title is sure to provide hours of entertainment for fans of arcade shooters everywhere!
