Smurfs II - Travel the World, The is a video game released for the Sega Game Gear in 1993. Developed by Infogrames and based on the animated television series The Smurfs, it is a side-scrolling action platformer in which players take control of Papa Smurf as he journeys to various locations around the world in search of his lost grandchild.

The game begins with Papa Smurf receiving a letter from his lost grandchild, asking him to come visit them. Unfortunately, they don't specify where they are located! As a result, Papa must travel to various places around the world in order to locate them. Along the way, he must face off against numerous enemies and obstacles that stand in his way. He can gain access to new levels by collecting special items scattered throughout each stage.

Gameplay consists of navigating through various side-scrolling levels while avoiding or defeating enemies such as gargoyles, bats and spiders. Papa also has access to several items that can help him on his quest such as a magic hat that can turn him into an invincible giant or an umbrella that can be used to glide across gaps between platforms. There are also bonus stages which award extra points if completed successfully.

The graphics for the game are simple but colorful and detailed enough for players to be able to distinguish between different characters and items. The music is lighthearted and cheerful and adds some atmosphere to each level. Controls are fairly straightforward but may take some getting used to before players become comfortable with them.

Overall, Smurfs II - Travel the World is an enjoyable platformer with plenty of charm and challenge for fans of the series or anyone looking for something fun yet challenging on their Sega Game Gear console. With its vibrant visuals, catchy soundtrack, varied levels and power-ups, it's sure to entertain gamers both young and old alike!
