PGA Tour Golf is a golf simulation video game developed by Sega for the Game Gear system. It was released in 1992 and quickly became one of the most popular golf games on the market.
The game features realistic graphics, sound effects, and controls that closely emulate playing real golf. The game has two different modes: Tournament Mode and Practice Mode. In Tournament Mode, players can compete against up to four other computer-controlled opponents in a stroke play tournament on one of eight courses. The courses are modeled after real-world courses such as Pebble Beach, St Andrews Links, and Muirfield Village. Players can choose from several different difficulty levels which affect the size of the greens, how far they must hit their shots, and what type of club they will use.
In Practice Mode, players can practice their putting skills on any course without competing against other players or a computer opponent. This mode also allows players to adjust their shot power and accuracy settings so they can practice hitting longer shots or more accurate ones depending on what kind of shot they want to practice.
The game also includes various options for customizing each round of golf including adjusting wind speed, ball spin direction, club selection, and camera angle during play. Players can also save their progress in between rounds so they don't have to start from scratch each time they play the game.
Overall PGA Tour Golf for Game Gear is an excellent golf simulation game that offers gamers a realistic experience with plenty of customization options for making each round unique. The graphics are decent considering the limitations of the system's hardware and the gameplay is challenging enough to keep avid golfers entertained for hours on end.
