Striker is a Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES) game released in 1995. It is a football (soccer) video game developed by Human Entertainment and published by Imagineer. Striker was the first soccer video game to be released for the SNES.
The main objective of the game is to lead your team to victory by scoring more goals than your opponent. The player has full control over their team, from choosing which players to use in each match to controlling every kick, pass, and tackle during gameplay. The game features detailed graphics, realistic sound effects, and an intuitive control system that allows for fast-paced action on the pitch.
Striker offers several different modes of play including Exhibition mode, League mode, Cup mode and Tournament mode. The Exhibition mode allows players to set up a single match between two teams of their choice while League mode allows them to compete in a season-long tournament against computer-controlled opponents. Cup mode pits up to four teams against each other in a knockout tournament while Tournament mode allows players to compete in a series of matches against multiple teams from around the world.
The player can choose from a variety of international teams including England, Germany, Italy, Spain, Brazil and France as well as fictional teams such as Space Invaders and Ninja Turtles. There are also several different stadiums available from around the world including Wembley Stadium in London and Maracana Stadium in Rio de Janeiro.
Striker features several different camera angles for viewing the action on the pitch including behind-the-player view which gives an overhead view of the field as well as side views for close-up shots of tackles and passes. Players can also choose from three difficulty levels – easy, medium or hard – depending on their skill level.
In addition to its single-player modes, Striker also supports two-player simultaneous play via link cable connection allowing friends or family members to play against each other locally or online via emulation software such as ZSNES or SNES9x. This makes it easy for players of all ages and skill levels to enjoy the fast-paced action of Striker together with friends or family members regardless of location or hardware limitations.
