The Star Fox Super Weekend Competition was a special event that took place on the Super Nintendo Entertainment System in 1993. The competition ran from March 19th to April 4th and gave players the chance to win some amazing prizes, including cash and a trip to Nintendo Headquarters in Japan.
The competition was open to all players of the game, regardless of their skill level. Players had to complete three levels of the game within a set time limit in order to qualify for the competition. The first level was called “Venom” and it was an intense space battle between Fox McCloud and his team against Andross’s forces. The second level was titled “Asteroid Field” and it took place in a dangerous asteroid field where Fox had to try to avoid getting hit by asteroids while destroying enemy ships. Finally, the third level was called “Planet Zoness” which featured an underwater mission where Fox had to use his Arwing fighter jet to navigate through a sea of enemies.
Players who completed all three levels within the time limit were then entered into a special draw where one lucky player would be chosen as the grand prize winner. That person would receive $10,000 plus an all-expense paid trip for two people (including airfare, hotel accommodation and meals) to Nintendo Headquarters in Kyoto, Japan. They would also have their name inscribed on a plaque at Nintendo HQ as well as receiving copies of rare promotional items such as posters and t-shirts not available anywhere else.
The Star Fox Super Weekend Competition was an exciting event that brought together fans from around the world who shared their love for this classic game series. It provided them with an opportunity to show off their skills while being rewarded with some amazing prizes along with bragging rights over other competitors!
