SOS is a Super Nintendo game that was released in Japan in 1994. The game was developed by Konami and published by Pack-In-Video Co., Ltd. It is a side-scrolling action-adventure game with elements of horror.

The story of SOS revolves around the mysterious disappearance of a group of scientists from an island research station, located off the coast of Japan. The player takes on the role of one of two protagonists: either a male researcher named Jiro or his female counterpart, Kanae. Both characters have different abilities and can use various items to progress through the levels. As the story progresses, it becomes clear that something sinister is happening on the island and that an ancient evil has been unleashed.

Gameplay consists of platforming and combat based challenges spread across four distinct areas: a jungle, an underground laboratory, an ancient temple complex, and finally a castle. There are also boss battles which require strategy and skill to defeat. Players must make use of their special abilities to progress through each area while also collecting items such as keys and power-ups in order to open new paths or gain access to secret areas.

The graphics in SOS are fairly basic but effective; they feature detailed environments with varied terrain, enemies, and obstacles that add to the overall atmosphere of mystery and suspense. The soundtrack is also quite good, featuring eerie music which helps set the tone for each level as well as providing much needed tension during boss battles.

Overall, SOS is an underrated gem on the Super Nintendo system which provides players with plenty of challenge as well as atmosphere throughout its adventure filled levels. It’s definitely worth checking out if you’re looking for some classic action-adventure gaming!
