Run Saber is a side-scrolling action game for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES). Developed by Natsume and published by Taito, Run Saber was released in Japan in 1993 and North America in 1994.
In Run Saber, players take control of a knight-like character known as The Stalker. The Stalker is tasked with slaying monsters that have been summoned to the world by an evil force known as the Dark Lord. Armed with a sword and shield, The Stalker must traverse treacherous levels filled with traps, enemies, and bosses while collecting power-ups and treasures along the way.
The game features seven stages set in various environments such as forests, castles, deserts, icy wastelands, and futuristic cities. Each stage consists of four sections: a platforming section where The Stalker must jump across platforms and avoid obstacles; an action section where he must fight off enemies; a boss battle where he must defeat a powerful creature; and a puzzle section where he must solve puzzles to progress. In addition to these sections, there are also hidden areas that can be accessed by finding secret passages or using special items obtained during the game.
The gameplay is fast-paced and requires quick reflexes as well as strategic thinking in order to succeed. Players can upgrade their character’s stats by collecting coins throughout each level which can be used to purchase new weapons or armor at stores found throughout each stage.
The graphics are colorful and detailed with vibrant backgrounds that give each level its own unique look and feel. The music is upbeat and catchy, adding to the excitement of the game. Overall, Run Saber provides an enjoyable experience for gamers looking for an intense action platformer on the SNES.
