Ghoul Patrol is a side-scrolling shoot 'em up game released for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System in 1994. Developed by Jaleco, it is the sequel to the 1992 game Bases Loaded 3: The Majors and features similar gameplay mechanics. The player takes control of one of four characters, each with their own unique abilities, and must battle through a variety of levels filled with monsters and obstacles.

The game follows the story of four characters: Max (the main protagonist), his brother Mark, their friend Alex, and a mysterious girl named Zoe. They are tasked with protecting their hometown from an army of monsters known as "Ghouls" that have invaded from another dimension. In order to do so, they must travel across various environments fighting off hordes of enemies in order to reach their destination.

Gameplay consists of navigating through levels while destroying enemies and collecting power-ups. There are three types of weapons available to the player: a machine gun, a shotgun, and a flamethrower. Each weapon has its own advantages and disadvantages; for example, the shotgun is powerful but has limited range while the flamethrower has great range but requires more precise aiming to be effective. Power-ups can also be collected throughout levels which provide temporary boosts such as increased speed or invincibility.

The player's character can also perform special moves such as double jumps or slides in order to dodge enemy attacks or traverse difficult terrain. Additionally, players can collect coins throughout each level which can be used at certain shops in order to purchase additional items such as health packs or extra lives.

The game includes several different modes including Story Mode where players progress through levels in order to advance the story; Challenge Mode where players compete for high scores on individual stages; and Versus Mode which pits two players against each other in head-to-head combat. Additionally, Ghoul Patrol features co-operative multiplayer where two players can team up together in order to take on more difficult stages or bosses together.

Overall, Ghoul Patrol is an enjoyable side-scrolling shooter that offers plenty of action and challenge for both single and multiplayer experiences alike. With its varied gameplay mechanics and multiple modes available, it provides hours of entertainment for fans of classic arcade shooters looking for something new on their Super Nintendo console.
