Genghis Khan II: Clan of the Gray Wolf is a grand strategy game for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES) released in 1994. Developed by Koei, it is the sequel to Genghis Khan, which was also released for the SNES. The goal of the game is to take control of all nations in Asia and Europe, or conquer one's own nation, depending on what scenario is chosen at the start.

The game offers three different scenarios. In "Conquest of Mankind" mode, the player starts out with only Mongolia and must expand their empire by conquering other countries and establishing colonies in newly conquered lands. In "Rise of Mongolian Empire" mode, the player takes control of a pre-existing Mongolian empire and must defend against invading forces while expanding their borders. Finally, in "Unification of Nations" mode, players can choose any nation they wish to play as and attempt to unify all nations under their banner.

Players begin each game with a set amount of money determined by the chosen scenario. This money can be used to purchase units such as infantrymen, cavalrymen, siege machines, naval vessels and castles which are used to defend against enemy forces or launch attacks against rival nations. Money can also be used to develop cities and build industries such as farms and mines which produce resources like gold and food that are necessary for sustaining an army.

The game features turn-based strategic gameplay similar to other grand strategy games like Civilization or Risk. Players move their armies around on a map divided into provinces that represent different regions within a country or continent. Provinces have different levels of terrain which affect how much damage units inflict when attacking from that area; for example, fighting from mountains will give an advantage over fighting from plains or desert areas. When two armies meet on the battlefield they will engage in combat where both sides can suffer casualties depending on who has superior numbers or better tactics employed during battle.

Genghis Khan II: Clan of the Gray Wolf also features diplomacy options such as alliances between nations or trading agreements that allow players to acquire resources without having to fight for them through war. Diplomacy plays an important role in this game since it allows players more flexibility when it comes to achieving victory conditions than simply relying on military might alone could provide them with.

Overall Genghis Khan II: Clan of the Gray Wolf is a deep and engaging grand strategy game with plenty of content that will keep players entertained for hours on end as they attempt to unite all nations under one banner through either diplomatic means or brute force domination tactics!
