Drakkhen is a Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES) action-adventure role-playing game developed by Draconian and released in 1991. The game is set in a vast, open world filled with monsters, puzzles, and secrets. Players take on the role of one of four heroic adventurers, who must explore the world of Drakkhen and save it from destruction.
The game begins with a brief introduction that explains the backstory of the world of Drakkhen. Long ago, a powerful wizard known as Sarnath created a magical kingdom which he ruled over with his four apprentices: The Dragonlord, The Beastlord, The Windlord, and The Seer. However, when Sarnath was defeated by an evil force known as the Dark King, his kingdom fell into chaos. Now it is up to the player’s chosen adventurer to explore the land of Drakkhen and restore peace to its troubled people.
Players must traverse through numerous dungeons and locations while battling monsters such as goblins, orcs, trolls and dragons. Along their journey they can collect weapons and magical items to help them in their quest. As they progress they will also encounter NPCs who can provide information or quests that may be beneficial to their mission.
In addition to exploring and fighting enemies, players must also solve various puzzles throughout Drakkhen. These puzzles range from simple sliding block puzzles to more complex logic puzzles that require careful thought and strategy in order to pass them successfully.
The key goal for players is to find all four elemental stones (Firestone, Waterstone, Airstone & Earthstone) scattered across Drakkhen before time runs out – otherwise the Dark King will be able to unleash his power upon the world once again!
Drakkhen is an immersive action-adventure RPG filled with intrigue and mystery; its unique combination of exploration, combat, puzzling elements makes for an engaging experience that should appeal to fans of classic SNES games such as Final Fantasy III or Chrono Trigger. Although some parts may seem dated now compared to modern RPGs thanks to advances in technology over time; overall this title still holds up well today due its great storyline and challenging gameplay mechanics.
