Doom is a first-person shooter video game developed and published by Id Software for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System in 1995. It is the first console port of the original Doom, which was released for PC in 1993. The game follows a space marine, known as "Doomguy", who must fight his way through hordes of demons from Hell to save humanity.
The gameplay of Doom consists of fighting enemies in various levels, using a variety of weapons such as shotguns, chainguns, rocket launchers and plasma rifles. The player can also find power-ups that increase health or ammunition capacity, as well as keys which are used to open locked doors throughout the levels. The game features an automap system that allows players to keep track of where they have been and where they are going.
The graphics in Doom are much simpler than those seen in later versions due to the hardware limitations of the SNES. There are also several cheat codes available that can be used to gain access to secret levels or invincibility; these codes can be entered at any time during gameplay by pressing specific button combinations on the controller pad.
