It follows the story of Gomez, Morticia, Wednesday and Pugsley Addams as they try to rescue their family from the evil plot of their Uncle Fester.
The game consists of five levels with each one having three acts. In each level, Gomez must find and save his family members who have been taken captive by different enemies such as monsters, robots and aliens. As you progress through each level you are presented with various puzzles which need to be solved in order to progress further into the game. Alongside this, there are also mini-games scattered throughout that can be accessed if certain items are collected or switches activated.
Gomez is armed with a slingshot which can be used to shoot at enemies or activate certain switches within each level. He is also able to collect various power ups throughout the levels such as extra lives or invincibility which can help him progress further into the game. There is also an inventory system in place where items such as keys can be stored until they are needed later on in the game.
The graphics and sound effects used in The Addams Family for the Super Nintendo were quite impressive for its time period and still hold up today when compared to other games released around that time period. The character designs were based off of those seen in the movie and give an authentic feel to it all while still providing enough variety so that it does not become repetitive after playing for extended periods of time.
Overall, The Addams Family for the Super Nintendo is a fun platformer with great visuals and sound effects which are still enjoyable even after all these years. The puzzles within it require some thought but never become too difficult thus allowing players of all ages to enjoy it without becoming frustrated or bored too quickly. With its unique characters, detailed levels and various mini-games there’s plenty here to keep gamers entertained for hours on end!
