3 Ninjas Kick Back is a side-scrolling action game released for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES) in 1994. The game was developed by Malibu Interactive and published by Sony Imagesoft. It is based on the 1994 film of the same name, which follows three young ninjas, Rocky, Colt and TumTum as they battle an evil warlord named Koga Shuko.
In 3 Ninjas Kick Back, the player takes control of one of the three brothers: Rocky, Colt or TumTum. The objective of the game is to progress through levels while fighting enemies and collecting power-ups. The player can switch between characters at any time during gameplay and each character has their own unique abilities that can be used to defeat enemies. These abilities include throwing shurikens, performing backflips, punching and kicking.
The game consists of 12 levels split across four stages: Forest, Cave, Castle and Island; each stage is divided into three levels with a boss fight at the end. At certain points in the game, players will also encounter mini-games such as a fishing contest or a race against other ninjas. Players must complete these mini-games in order to progress further in the level or gain access to bonus items such as health power-ups or extra lives.
Each stage also contains hidden bonus rooms that can be accessed by finding secret doors scattered throughout each level. In these bonus rooms players can collect extra power-ups such as energy balls that replenish life energy or special weapons like boomerangs that can be used against enemies. After completing all four stages, players must face off against Koga Shuko in a final showdown before being declared victorious and completing the game.
Overall 3 Ninjas Kick Back provides an enjoyable gaming experience with its easy to learn controls and challenging levels that require strategy and quick reflexes to complete successfully. The game also features colorful graphics that capture the spirit of ninjutsu perfectly along with catchy music tracks that make it a great addition to any Super Nintendo library.
