Wayne's World is an action-adventure video game for the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES).
It was released in 1992 and based on the popular Saturday Night Live sketch, Wayne's World.
The game put players in control of Wayne and Garth, two metalhead slackers who live in a basement apartment.
Players must help them save their beloved public access TV show by collecting items and solving puzzles.
The game is set in the fictional city of Aurora, Illinois.
The plot revolves around the duo attempting to raise enough money to keep their public access television show from being canceled due to lack of funds.
To accomplish this, they must collect items such as guitars, amplifiers, cassettes, CDs, and other music equipment from various locations throughout the town.
Along the way they will encounter several obstacles that require problem solving skills to overcome.
In addition to the main questline, there are also several mini-games which can be accessed at any time.
The gameplay consists of side-scrolling levels where players explore various parts of Aurora while collecting items and avoiding enemies.
Enemies include robots that shoot lasers, flying discs that can be shot down with a guitar pick gun, and giant spiders that must be avoided or jumped over.
As players progress through each level they will find more powerful weapons such as bazookas and flame throwers which can help them defeat tougher enemies later on in the game.
The graphics are fairly basic but still manage to capture some of the charm of Wayne’s World’s unique style.
The characters look like they stepped out of an episode of SNL with their comically oversized heads and exaggerated facial expressions.
The background music is catchy and fits well with the setting; it has a classic rock feel that matches perfectly with Wayne’s love for heavy metal music.
Overall, Wayne’s World for NES is a fun action-adventure game that captures some of the charm from its source material while offering up an enjoyable gaming experience for fans of all ages.
While there are certainly better looking games available on other systems today, this one still manages to hold up surprisingly well despite its age thanks to its memorable characters and catchy soundtrack.
Whether you're a fan of SNL or just looking for a fun nostalgia trip back to your childhood days playing video games on your NES console, you'll find plenty to enjoy here with Wayne’s World!
