Snake Rattle N Roll is a platform game released by Nintendo for the NES in 1990. Developed by Rare, it was one of the first games to use pre-rendered 3D graphics and it featured a unique control scheme that used both the D-pad and the A/B buttons. The game was well received, with critics praising its innovative use of 3D graphics and its challenging gameplay.

The goal of Snake Rattle N Roll is to guide two snakes—Rattler and Razz—through each level, eating as many Nibbley Pibbleys as possible along the way. As they eat Nibbley Pibbleys, they grow larger until they are able to reach the exit sign at the end of the level. Along their journey, they must avoid obstacles such as pits, fireballs, and moving platforms. They can also collect power-ups such as extra lives or invincibility stars to help them complete their mission.

The controls in Snake Rattle N Roll are relatively simple but require some practice to master. To move Rattler or Razz around each level, players use the D-pad while pressing either A or B button causes them to jump. If both buttons are pressed simultaneously, the snakes can curl up into a ball which allows them to roll through tight spaces or up steep inclines. Additionally, players can press select at any time during play to switch between characters if needed.

Snake Rattle N Roll features three different worlds with nine levels each; these levels consist of various types of terrain from open plains to caves filled with lava flows and rolling hillsides covered in snow and ice. Each world also has a bonus level where players can earn extra points for completing certain objectives such as collecting all of the cherries in a given area or reaching a designated point within a certain amount of time. Upon completion of all 27 levels, players are presented with an ending sequence showing Rattler and Razz’s journey home from outer space back to Earth via their trusty rocket ship!

Snake Rattle N Roll is an excellent example of how developers can take advantage of pre-rendered 3D graphics on classic consoles like the NES while still creating unique gameplay experiences that challenge players in new ways. Its innovative control scheme combined with its vibrant visuals make it an enjoyable experience even today, nearly 30 years after its original release!
