Play Qix Online
Qix is an arcade game released by Taito in 1981. It was later ported to the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) in 1988. The game is set on a playfield filled with geometric shapes, and the player must clear as much of the screen as possible by drawing lines to divide it into sections. As they draw, they must avoid a wandering enemy, called Qix, that can kill them if it touches their line before it is completed.
The gameplay revolves around the player controlling a marker which moves around the playfield at a constant speed. This marker can be directed to move in any direction and draw a line along its path. If the marker comes into contact with Qix or another enemy, it will be destroyed and the player will lose a life. The objective of each level is to draw lines that will divide up 75% or more of the playfield into separate sections; this will cause all enemies onscreen to disappear and complete the level. If successful, the player will receive bonus points based on how quickly they cleared the area and how many lives they had remaining when they did so.
Qix also features several power-ups that can help players complete levels faster and more easily. These include items like shields which protect against enemy attacks, speed boosts which make drawing faster, bombs which destroy all enemies onscreen at once, and special bonuses like extra lives or points for completing levels even faster than usual. Additionally, there are different types of Qix that appear throughout each level; some are harmless while others are more aggressive and require more skillful maneuvering to avoid being killed by them.
Overall, Qix is an incredibly fun game that requires quick reflexes and strategic thinking in order to succeed. Its simple yet challenging premise has made it one of the most beloved games from its era, as well as one of NES’s most iconic titles. With its varied power-ups and unique enemies, no two playthroughs are ever quite alike – making for an exciting experience every time you pick up your controller!
