Momotarou Densetsu Gaiden (or Momotaro Densetsu Gaiden, as it is sometimes known) is a side-scrolling action-adventure game developed by Hudson Soft and released for the Nintendo Entertainment System in 1991. The game is set in a fantasy world populated by anthropomorphic animals and plants. Players take on the role of Momotarou, a young boy who has been summoned to save the kingdom of Kyo from an evil demon king.
The game has two distinct parts: an overworld map and side-scrolling action stages. The overworld map allows players to explore the world of Kyo, with each area containing its own puzzles and enemies to defeat. As players progress through the game they will be able to collect items such as weapons, armor, and food that can help them in battle. Additionally, they can also find hidden items such as keys which will open up new areas or unlock secrets.
In addition to exploring the world of Kyo, players must also complete various side-scrolling action stages that are full of enemies and obstacles. These levels have a variety of objectives including reaching the end of each level before time runs out or defeating all enemies within a certain period of time. Throughout these levels there are various power ups that can help Momotarou in his quest such as health potions, bonus points, and more powerful weapons/armor. In some cases there are hidden items that can only be found if specific tasks are completed first such as collecting a certain number of coins or defeating certain enemies.
At the end of each stage Momotarou must face off against one or more bosses which usually require special tactics in order to defeat them. After completing all stages the player will finally confront the Demon King himself who guards the final treasure - The Golden Crown - which is said to grant its wearer unimaginable power! If successful, Momotarou will have saved Kyo from destruction!
Momotarou Densetsu Gaiden is considered one of the best games for NES by many fans due to its varied gameplay elements and engaging story line. Despite being released almost three decades ago it still holds up well today thanks to its timeless charm and engaging mechanics which make it just as enjoyable now as it was back then! With its vibrant visuals and catchy music this classic title remains one worth playing even today!
