Mickey’s Adventures in Numberland is a Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) educational video game released in 1989. Developed by Nihon Bussan and published by Kemco, it was the first of several educational games starring Disney characters. The game follows Mickey Mouse as he travels through the magical world of Numberland to help its citizens with their math problems.

Players control Mickey as he moves around the various locations in the game, which are divided into four main areas: the Kingdom of Numbers, Mountain Maze, Magic Forest, and Castle Keep. Each area contains three levels that must be completed before progressing to the next area. In each level, players must help the citizens of Numberland solve math problems by collecting coins and gems scattered throughout the level. The coins represent numbers, while the gems represent operations such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. Players must collect enough coins and gems to construct an equation that matches a given answer at the bottom of each screen. If they do so correctly, they will be rewarded with a star that unlocks additional items or features in subsequent levels.

In addition to solving equations, players must also navigate through platforming levels filled with enemies like bats and snakes that can take away Mickey’s health points if he comes too close. To avoid them or defeat them, players can use power-ups like bombs or lightning bolts that can be found throughout each stage. There are also hidden bonus levels where players can earn extra lives by completing puzzles or mini-games like mazes or jigsaw puzzles.

At the end of each area is a boss battle where Mickey must face off against one of King Koopa’s minions from Mario Bros., such as Birdo or Goombas. Defeating these bosses requires knowledge of basic arithmetic operations as well as quick reflexes for dodging enemy attacks. Once all four areas have been completed, players face off against King Koopa himself in order to save Numberland from his evil plans and restore peace to its citizens once again!
