Last Armageddon is an action-adventure video game developed by Tokuma Shoten and published by Pony Canyon for the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) in 1989. The game was released exclusively in Japan, and has garnered a cult following among retro gaming fans.

The player takes on the role of a young swordsman named Garett who is tasked with saving the world from an impending apocalypse known as Last Armageddon. The story follows Garett as he battles through numerous dungeons in search of the Four Keys of Destruction, which are needed to unlock the gates to the Tower of Babel where the source of Last Armageddon lies. Along the way, Garett must face off against powerful monsters and bosses, and collect items that will help him on his quest.

At its core, Last Armageddon is an overhead-perspective action-adventure game similar to classic titles such as The Legend of Zelda or Crystalis. Players must explore various dungeons while avoiding traps and solving puzzles in order to progress further into their quest. Combat is turn-based, with enemies appearing randomly onscreen during exploration segments. As Garett defeats enemies he earns experience points which can be used to upgrade his stats such as attack power, speed, defense and health points.

The visuals in Last Armageddon are typical for NES games at the time; character sprites are small but highly detailed, while backgrounds feature large amounts of detail with vibrant colors. The music composed by Takashi Tateishi is excellent; it’s very catchy and helps set a dark atmosphere for the journey ahead.

Overall Last Armageddon is an enjoyable action-adventure title for those looking for something different from classic 8-bit titles like The Legend of Zelda or Crystalis. It features great visuals and music, challenging gameplay and unique dungeon designs that make it stand out from other NES games at the time. Although it was never released outside Japan, modern gamers can still enjoy this classic title thanks to fan translations available online.
