James Bond Jr.
is an action-adventure video game released for the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) in 1991.
Developed by Eurocom and published by THQ, it was the first James Bond video game to feature the likeness of actor Timothy Dalton, who had taken over as James Bond from Roger Moore in the 1987 film The Living Daylights.
The game follows the teenage nephew of Agent 007, James Bond Jr., as he foils a sinister plot by evil mastermind SCUMM to take over the world. The game is set on a tropical island and begins with SCUMM's forces attacking a research facility on the island owned by Professor Robinson.
After rescuing Professor Robinson from his captors, Bond Jr.
learns that SCUMM has stolen several pieces of technology from the facility which they intend to use to build their own super weapon.
In order to prevent this from happening, Bond Jr.
must locate all of these pieces and return them back to Professor Robinson before SCUMM can complete their plans.Bond Jr.'s journey takes him around the world as he searches for clues that will lead him to SCUMM's hideout.
Along his travels he must face off against numerous enemies including henchmen, robots, and even some giant creatures such as sharks and giant spiders.
He also gains access to numerous gadgets such as laser guns and jetpacks which help him progress through each level.Throughout his quest Bond Jr.
will come across various hidden items such as coins that can be used to purchase upgrades at shops located within each level or special items needed to progress further in his mission.
He will also encounter several mini-games where he can win additional points or items needed for his quest if played successfully.
The game features three different difficulty levels allowing players of all ages and skill levels to enjoy it; however, due to its limited scope it may become repetitive after completing it multiple times on higher difficulties setting it apart from other titles released during its time period which featured more expansive worlds with greater enemy variety or puzzles requiring more thought than just shooting your way through them like this one does..
Overall James Bond Jr is a fun title for fans of both classic spy movies and action-adventure games alike that still holds up well today despite its age thanks mainly due to its tight controls and simple yet enjoyable gameplay mechanics making it worth revisiting every now and then if you're looking for something light hearted but challenging enough at times not feel too easy either
