Zool is a classic platform game released by Gremlin Graphics for the Nintendo Game Boy in 1992. Developed by the same team that brought us the popular Sonic the Hedgehog series, Zool was one of the first platform games to be released on the Game Boy and it quickly became a fan favorite.

The game stars Zool, an alien ninja from the planet Zoar who has been sent to Earth to battle an evil robot called Nastazia. Players must help Zool fight his way through six different levels filled with enemies and obstacles, using his martial arts skills to defeat them. As he progresses through each level, he must collect power-ups, coins and other items that will help him along his journey. The goal of each level is to reach the end before time runs out while collecting as many points as possible.

The gameplay of Zool follows typical side-scrolling platform conventions. The player controls Zool using either the directional pad or D-pad (depending on which version of the game they are playing) and can move him left or right across platforms and ladders while pressing up or down will make him jump or crouch respectively. He also has access to various weapons such as shurikens and bombs that can be used against enemies.

One of the most interesting aspects of Zool is its vibrant visuals and unique art style. The game features colorful cartoon graphics with lots of detail and animations that bring it all together nicely. While some might argue that its graphics may not hold up today, at its time it was one of the best looking games for Nintendo’s handheld console.

In addition to its visuals, Zool also features an excellent soundtrack composed by Matt Furniss which adds a great deal of energy and life to each stage. It’s catchy tunes are sure to get stuck in your head after just a few plays!

Overall, Zool is an excellent platformer for Nintendo’s Game Boy system that still holds up well today despite its age. Its vibrant visuals, fun gameplay mechanics and catchy soundtrack make it one of the most memorable games for this beloved handheld console. If you’re looking for a classic gaming experience then look no further than Zool!
