The latest installment of the franchise is Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Back from the Sewers for Nintendo Game Boy.
This game has all of your favorite turtles: Leonardo, Donatello, Raphael, and Michelangelo as they battle their way through eight stages each with unique enemies and bosses. You can choose to play as any one of the four turtles or switch between them at any point during the game. The turtles also come equipped with a variety of weapons including swords, nunchucks, bo staffs, throwing stars and more. As you progress through the game you will be able to upgrade each turtle’s weapon and armor to make them more powerful.
The controls in TMNT: Back from the Sewers are simple yet effective allowing players to easily navigate their way through levels while taking out enemies along the way. The graphics are decent for a Game Boy title and the music adds an extra layer of atmosphere to proceedings. There are also some nice touches such as being able to save your progress at certain points throughout each level so you don’t have to start over if you die or get stuck somewhere.
If you’re looking for a classic side-scrolling beat ‘em up then Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Back from the Sewers is definitely worth checking out on Nintendo Game Boy. It has all of your favorite characters from the series as well as some great gameplay mechanics that make it easy to pick up and play but difficult enough that there is still plenty of challenge involved. This is one game that fans of TMNT won’t want to miss out on!
