Snow Bros. Jr. is a classic platforming video game released for the Nintendo Game Boy in 1995. Developed by American studio SETA Corporation and published by Taito, Snow Bros. Jr. is the sequel to the popular arcade game Snow Bros., which was released in 1990. The game follows two snowmen, Nick and Tom, as they battle their way through 50 stages of enemies while collecting power-ups to help them along their journey.
The goal of Snow Bros. Jr. is simple: collect all the items on each stage before time runs out and defeat any enemies that stand in your way. The player controls one of the two snowmen, Nick or Tom, who can move left or right and jump with the D-Pad and A button respectively. The B button allows either character to throw snowballs at enemies, which will freeze them in place if it hits them directly or bounces off a wall first; once an enemy is frozen, they can be pushed into other enemies or off ledges to defeat them all at once for bonus points. In addition to throwing snowballs, both characters have a special attack that can be used when enough energy has been collected from defeated enemies; Nick can shoot a stream of fire while Tom can summon a magical bubble that will automatically seek out nearby enemies and freeze them in place until it pops after a few seconds.
Players must complete each level within the allotted time limit while avoiding hazards like spike pits and bottomless pits; if either character takes too much damage or falls off screen, they will lose one life and have to start over from the beginning of that particular level again with only three lives available per continue (additional continues can be earned by collecting specific items). As players progress through each level they will encounter various power-ups like bombs which can clear away large chunks of ice blocks as well as extra lives, bonus points, invincibility stars and even weapons like swords or guns which allow them to take out multiple foes at once without needing to freeze them first; these weapons come in handy during boss fights as some bosses require more than just throwing snowballs at them to defeat!
Overall Snow Bros Jr is an excellent port of its predecessor with its colorful graphics and fun gameplay making it one of the best games ever released for the Nintendo Game Boy system! It’s still incredibly fun today even though it’s over 25 years old now; if you’re looking for a classic platformer experience then this is definitely worth checking out!
