The NFL Quarterback Club was a series of football video games released by Acclaim Entertainment in the late 1990s and early 2000s.
The series was popular on the Nintendo Game Boy, PlayStation, Sega Saturn, and N64 platforms.
It featured licensed teams from the National Football League (NFL) as well as several fictional teams.
The first game in the series, NFL Quarterback Club '96, was released for the Nintendo Game Boy in 1996.
It featured three-on-three football action with full 11-man squads from all 28 NFL teams at that time.
Players could choose different formations such as I-formation and shotgun spread, or even create their own custom plays with a Play Editor.
The game also included an extensive Franchise mode that allowed players to manage their team over multiple seasons and take part in trade negotiations with other teams.
The next game in the series was NFL Quarterback Club 98 for the Nintendo 64 which was released in 1997.
This version featured improved graphics and added features like injury tracking, weather conditions, improved play editor, and a new two-player battle mode where players could compete against each other on split screen.
The game also included more realistic sound effects and commentary from real life announcers Pat Summerall and John Madden.
The third installment of the series was NFL Quarterback Club 99 which was released for both the N64 and PlayStation platforms in 1998.
This version featured an expanded Franchise mode with more options for managing your team such as salary caps, free agency signings, and trades.
It also introduced a new passing system that allowed players to select different types of passes such as lobs or bullets depending on the situation.
The game also had improved graphics along with more advanced AI for computer controlled opponents making it much more challenging than previous versions of the game.
The fourth installment of the series was NFL Quarterback Club 2000 which was released for both N64 and PlayStation platforms in 1999.
This version included updated rosters from all 32 NFL teams as well as updated stadiums based on actual NFL venues including 3D rendered crowds cheering for your team when you score touchdowns or make big plays during games.
It also introduced a new “Hot Routes” feature which allowed players to instantly change pass routes depending on what kind of defense they were facing during gameplay making it easier to find open receivers down field or exploit weaknesses in opposing defenses quickly during games.
