Kwirk, released for the Nintendo Game Boy in 1990, is a puzzle game that has become a cult classic. Developed by Atlus and published by Imagineer, Kwirk follows the story of an anthropomorphic tomato named Kwirk who must navigate through levels of puzzles to reach his beloved princess. The player takes control of Kwirk and must use their wits and dexterity to solve each level.

The game consists of four worlds with various levels within each one. In each level, the player must help Kwirk reach the exit door while avoiding enemies and obstacles such as spikes, water, pits, and conveyor belts. Along the way, they must also collect four pieces of fruit which will unlock special bonus levels at the end of each world.

Kwirk controls are simple but effective; he can move left, right and jump using the D-pad or A button. He can also push blocks by standing next to them and pressing either direction on the D-pad or A button. This is essential to complete some of the puzzles later in the game as you must push blocks onto switches or into gaps to clear paths for Kwirk to progress further into a level.

The graphics in Kwirk are incredibly charming and colorful; from its bright backgrounds to its cartoon-like characters it’s easy to see why this game has become so popular over time. The sound effects are also great; they add an extra layer of atmosphere to each stage making it more immersive than many other Game Boy titles from its era. It’s worth noting that although this game was released in 1990 it still looks great today thanks to its timeless pixel art design which has aged well over time.

Kwirk is an enjoyable title with plenty of challenge; even after completing all four worlds there are hidden bonus levels that can be unlocked if you have collected enough pieces of fruit throughout your journey (there are a total of sixteen). If you’re looking for a great puzzle game for your original Game Boy then look no further than Kwirk – it’s sure to keep you entertained for hours!
