Puyo Puyo 2 is a classic puzzle game released by Compile for the Nintendo Game Boy in 1994.

The game was developed and published by Sega in Japan, and was later localized in North America as Kirby's Avalanche.

It is the sequel to the original Puyo Puyo, which had been released on the Super Famicom earlier that year.

The objective of Puyo Puyo 2 is to link four or more of the same-colored blobs (called puyos) together so they disappear from the playing field and award points to the player.

In order to do this, players must rotate and drop pairs of puyos onto the field until they form a chain reaction with other puyos of matching colors.

As chains are formed, garbage puyos will be sent over to your opponent's side of the board, making it harder for them to clear their own board.

The goal is to be the first player to deplete all their puyos from their side of the board.

Puyo Puyo 2 features several single-player modes such as Story Mode, where players take on various characters from Compile’s Madou Monogatari series, as well as a standard Arcade Mode which pits players against computer opponents at various difficulty levels.

There is also an Endless Mode which allows players to practice their skills without worrying about running out of lives or time limits.

Additionally, two players can battle one another via link cable connection or through password exchange using passwords found within certain copies of Japanese strategy guidebooks for Puyo Puyo 2.

In terms of visuals and audio, Puyo Puyo 2 features bright and cheery graphics with plenty of color variety throughout its stages, as well as catchy music tracks composed by Toshio Kai that fit perfectly with each stage’s theme.

The Game Boy version also includes special sound effects when performing combos on your opponent’s side or clearing your own board rapidly; these sound effects were not present in either the Super Famicom or Sega Saturn versions of the game
