Force 21 is a turn-based strategy video game developed by Intelligent Systems and published by Nintendo for the Game Boy Color in 2000.
The game was released in Japan as Fire Emblem: Rekka no Ken (ファイアーエムブレム 烈火の剣, "Fire Emblem: Blazing Sword").
It is the seventh installment of the Fire Emblem series, and the first to be released on a handheld console.
Force 21 combines elements of tactical role-playing games with strategic simulation.
Players must maneuver their units around a battlefield while fighting enemy forces.
The objective is to defeat the enemy commander before they are able to do so.
Each unit has its own strengths and weaknesses, as well as unique abilities, which must be used strategically in order to succeed.
The story of Force 21 follows Roy, son of Eliwood from Fire Emblem 7: The Blazing Blade.
Roy's father has died and he must lead an army to protect Lycia from destruction at the hands of Bern's forces.
Along the way, he encounters allies such as Lilina and Elphin who join his cause.
With their help, Roy must do battle against Bern's powerful army led by Zephiel.
Players take control over Roy's army and use it to battle enemies on various maps throughout Lycia.
Each map consists of tiles that represent different types of terrain, such as forests or mountains that can affect movement or attack ranges depending on its type.
Units can move around these maps freely according to their individual movement range and attack enemies within range with weapons or magic spells when given orders by the player.
Units gain experience points after battles which can be used to level up stats such as Attack Power or Defense Power when enough experience points have been accumulated.
As units level up they also earn new abilities which expand their strategic potential even further.
Additionally, items found during battle can be equipped onto units in order to boost stats or provide other bonuses in combat situations.
Force 21 also features a support system where two allied characters can form a bond if they are placed next to each other during battles often enough; this grants bonuses such as increased accuracy or defense if one character defends another during combat situations.
Furthermore, there is an Arena mode where players can challenge each other using their armies for bonus rewards such as gold coins or rare items that cannot be found anywhere else in the game world.
Overall, Force 21 is an excellent turn-based strategy game with deep gameplay mechanics that make it enjoyable for both novice and veteran players alike; its engaging story makes it even more compelling for RPG fans looking for something unique on Nintendo’s Game Boy Color system
