Centipede for the Nintendo Game Boy Color is a classic arcade game that has been ported to the handheld system. If an enemy does make it across then it will turn into an egg which will hatch into another enemy after a few moments. Players have three lives with which to complete each stage and if all three are lost then it’s game over. Fortunately there are several power-ups scattered throughout each level which can give players an advantage such as weapons upgrades, extra lives, and invincibility for a short period of time.

Centipede for Nintendo Game Boy Color offers both single player and two player simultaneous play modes with plenty of levels to keep gamers busy for hours on end. The graphics may not look as good as some other games available on this system but they still do a great job in recreating the classic arcade experience on this portable device. The sound effects are also well done with different tunes playing throughout each stage depending on how many enemies are still alive or how close you are getting to completing a level. All in all, Centipede is one of those games that stands out from other titles released for this system due to its addictive gameplay mechanics and retro charm making it worth checking out even today if you’ve never played it before.
