Zone of the Enders: The Fist of Mars is an action-adventure game developed and published by Konami for the Nintendo Game Boy Advance in 2002. It is based on the Zone of the Enders series and was released in Japan as Anubis: Zone of the Enders - The Fist of Mars. The game follows a group of characters from Earth who travel to Mars to investigate a mysterious energy source known as “The Fist” that has been wreaking havoc on both planets.
The story focuses on two main characters, Leo Stenbuck and Dingo Egret, who are members of a military organization known as BAHRAM. As they investigate the cause behind The Fist, they uncover a plot involving an ancient alien race known as the "Jehuty" and their long-forgotten technology. Along with their allies, they must work together to stop an evil force from using this technology to take over both planets.
Gameplay in Zone of the Enders: The Fist of Mars is divided between two different modes; exploration mode and battle mode. Exploration mode allows players to explore various locations on Mars while also interacting with NPCs to gain information about their mission or progress through side quests. Battle mode is where all combat takes place and consists of turn-based battles where players control up to three characters at once. Each character has its own unique abilities and weapons which can be used strategically against enemies.
In addition to the standard gameplay elements, Zone of the Enders: The Fist of Mars features several minigames including Hover Bike Racing, Robot Battles, and Shooting Range challenges that can be played for rewards or points. Players can also use money earned in these minigames to purchase new parts for their robots which can then be used in battle.
Overall, Zone of the Enders: The Fist of Mars is an engaging action-adventure game that combines traditional turn-based strategy with exciting robot battles and exploration elements. With its unique story, colorful graphics, engaging gameplay mechanics, and multiple minigames, it’s easy to see why this title remains one of the most beloved games on the Game Boy Advance console today.
