Payback is an action-adventure game developed by Digital Eclipse and published by THQ for the Nintendo Game Boy Advance. It was released in North America on November 18, 2003 and later released in Europe on April 9, 2004. The game follows the story of a criminal gang known as “The Paybacks”, who are out to get revenge against their former employers.
Players take control of a character named Junior, who is the leader of the Paybacks. He is joined by his accomplices: Mac (the explosives expert), Gizmo (the hacker), and Spike (the muscle). Together they will travel around the world to seek vengeance against those who wronged them. Along the way they must contend with rival gangs, corrupt police officers, and even supernatural forces.
The gameplay in Payback involves using stealth and strategy to complete various objectives throughout each level. Players can choose from a variety of weapons including handguns, shotguns, rifles, and explosives to take down enemies. In addition to combat, players must also solve puzzles and use their environment to progress through levels. As players progress through levels they will receive rewards such as money or new weapons which can be used in future missions.
Payback has an interesting story that keeps players engaged throughout the game. The characters are well written and each mission provides unique challenges that keep things interesting. The graphics are good for a Game Boy Advance title and the music fits perfectly with the atmosphere of the game.
Overall Payback is an enjoyable action adventure game that offers plenty of challenge for gamers looking for something different on their handheld console. With its engaging story, varied missions and great visuals it offers an experience that won’t soon be forgotten.
