Mario Party Advance is a board game-style video game developed by Hudson Soft and published by Nintendo for the Game Boy Advance. It was released in Japan on July 28, 2004 and in North America on March 14, 2005. The game is the sixth title in the Mario Party series, and was followed by Mario Party DS in 2007.
In Mario Party Advance, players take part in a variety of mini-games as they travel around various boards collecting items and coins. While this may sound similar to other games in the series, there are some differences that set this one apart. For example, instead of competing against each other directly, players must complete various tasks to progress through the game and collect stars which can be used to buy items from shops or unlock new features. The game also features a number of unique mini-games that require special abilities or items to complete.
The main objective of Mario Party Advance is to collect as many stars as possible before reaching the end of any given board. As players progress through each board they will encounter various enemies such as Goombas and Koopa Troopas which can be defeated with items purchased from shops or found during play. Defeating enemies earns coins which can then be used to purchase items from shops or used at certain points on the board where special events may occur. These events may reward players with additional coins or even stars if successful enough.
Players are also able to customize their characters with accessories such as hats, glasses, shoes and more bought from shops throughout the game world or unlocked via completing certain tasks. In addition to these customizations, characters have several different skills that can be leveled up throughout play such as speed, strength and luck which can help them when playing mini-games or fighting enemies.
Mario Party Advance also has a two player mode where two players can compete against each other on separate boards with custom rulesets created by either player before starting the game. Up to four people can join together for team battles where all four players are working together towards a common goal rather than competing against each other directly.
Overall Mario Party Advance is an entertaining party style video game that offers something different compared to its predecessors while still maintaining some of what makes Mario Party so popular among fans of all ages. With its wide variety of mini-games, customization options for characters and unique two player mode it’s sure to provide hours of fun for gamers everywhere whether they’re playing alone or with friends!
