Undead Line is a side-scrolling action game developed by Wolf Team and released for the Sega Genesis/Mega Drive in 1992. It follows the story of a young girl named Saya, who is on a quest to save her village from a horde of monsters known as the Undead. The game plays out in alternating stages between platforming and shooting segments. In the platforming segments, Saya must navigate through various levels filled with enemies and obstacles while collecting items that can be used to upgrade her weapons or restore health. In the shooting segments, she must use her gun to take down hordes of enemies while avoiding their attacks.
The game features several different kinds of weapons, such as swords and spears, which can be upgraded by collecting power-ups throughout the levels. Additionally, there are numerous items to collect that will help Saya along her journey such as health potions and extra lives. As she progresses through each level, she will face ever-increasing hordes of enemies and more difficult obstacles in order to reach her destination. Along the way, Saya will also encounter bosses which must be defeated before moving onto the next stage.
The visuals in Undead Line are quite basic but still pleasing on the eyes due to its bright color palette and detailed sprites. The soundtrack is also quite impressive with its catchy tunes that perfectly match up with each stage’s intensity. Overall, Undead Line is an enjoyable action game that offers plenty of challenge for both beginner and veteran players alike. With its unique blend of platforming and shooting elements combined with its colorful visuals and great music, it’s easy to see why this title was so well received at the time of its release.
