The game begins on Earth with Taz attempting to escape from Elmer Fudd, who has captured him and taken him to Mars. These objectives include rescuing Martian friends, collecting items like coins and bonus points, defeating enemies, or reaching an exit point. Along the way, players will also have to solve puzzles and avoid obstacles like falling rocks or moving platforms.

These power-ups are hidden throughout the levels and can be collected by defeating enemies or finding secret areas. To help guide players through this adventure there is a world map which displays all of the locations within each level so that players can easily navigate their way around Mars. As well as navigating between locations on Mars, players will also need to use their wits if they want to successfully complete each level as some of them contain hidden switches that must be activated in order for progression to continue.
