The Sorcerer's Kingdom is a role-playing video game released for the Sega Genesis/Mega Drive on June 24 1992 in Japan. Developed by Wolf Team and published by Telenet Japan, this game features an RPG Gameplay where players take the role of a princess who has been cursed to become an ugly beast and needs to find four magical stones to regain her former beauty. The player need to explore dungeons, towns, castles and caves as they adventure across the fantasy world of Farlenke in order to undo the curse.
Players control their party of four characters, each with unique abilities, strengths and weaknesses. As each character levels up they can learn new magic spells or improve existing ones that are essential for progression. Players will have to battle monsters using melee weapons such as swords, axes and hammers or ranged weapons like bows and crossbows. Victory in battles is determined by statistics from both your party and enemy's stats such as Health Points (HP), Attack Power (AP), Defense Power (DP) and Magic Power (MP). Players also have access to items that act similarly to spells or healing potions that can help them out in tough battles.
In order to progress through the story line players need to collect relics that are scattered throughout mosques which are needed for character growth. These relics can be used at altars which found inside dungeons in order to upgrade stats such as HP, AP or MP depending on how many points you desire via menu selection options at no cost. As well as this dungeons contain puzzles which need solving with hints being given through books found within hidden palace rooms once activated by activating stone switches found in some areas of dungeon building structures.
Sorcerer’s Kingdom contains elements of grinding for Relics which are necessary for progression but once collected these give access to vital tools at no cost thus giving one a much easier time completing certain tasks if desired from early stages within game play along with various frustrating dungeon puzzles which give feeling triumph after completion without having worst encountered villain reappear again (like in some other RPG experiences!) given high enough stat growth so far making it one those games that really rewarding itself upon completion!
