Rolling Thunder 2 is a 2D side-scrolling action game originally released for the Sega Genesis/Mega Drive in 1996. It was developed by Technosoft and published by Micronet. Rolling Thunder 2 is the sequel to the original Rolling Thunder, and like its predecessor, it draws heavy inspiration from spy films and television series of the 1970s and 1980s.
The story of Rolling Thunder 2 centers around two agents from the WCPO (World Crime Police Organization): Albatross and Leila. After a few years since the first mission, agents Albatross and Leila are called back into action against their arch enemy Geldra. The notorious terror organization has resurfaced once again, this time planning world domination by launching high-tech assault weapons in satellite form over major cities across the globe. To save humanity, Albatross and Leila must stop Geldra's plans before they are successful in launching their missiles beyond their control!
The goal of each stage in Rolling Thunder 2 is rather simple: move right while dispatching enemies along the way until you reach each stage's final boss. Every level contains a number of secret doors that can be accessed with certain keys that are scattered throughout each level; these contain handy items such as extra ammunition or invincibility potions that can be used later to help your player survive otherwise fatal encounters.
The presentation of Rolling Thunder 2 is mostly similar to its predecessor; Every level features bright cartoon like visuals with a chunky 8-bit soundtrack accompanying it throughout your journey through each level. The gameplay mechanics remain largely untouched as well; The shooting mechanics cross between rapid fire shots or precision aiming to hit foes at any kind of angle without having much difficulty doing so. Rolling Thunder 2 also allows players to hold down buttons upon taking damage or holding up on walls to add layers of challenges not found on any other entries in this series
Rolling Thunder 2 features some exciting new challenges compared to its predecessor, such as randomly placed item boxes at certain points throughout levels with either helpful items inside them or instant death traps. Additionally, there are more platforming elements found within levels than before, creating an engaging path towards reaching bosses at the end of every stage each filled with hard decisions about when it's safe to take some risks for additional rewards offered by collectables strewn about levels alongside enemies who plan on firing off bullets left and right no matter how close you are from reaching bosses waiting just ahead .
Overall, Rolling Thunder 2 offers an excellent experience for fans of classic shoot 'em ups; With great visuals accompanied by intense action scenarios filled with secrets hiding around corners that all come together for one thrilling ride through some all too familiar settings taken straight out your favorite spy films!
