Taz-Mania: The Search for the Lost Seabirds is a Sega Game Gear platform game released in 1995. Developed by Sega and published by Virgin Interactive, this game stars Taz, the Tasmanian Devil from the Looney Tunes cartoon series.
The game follows Taz on an adventure to find the lost seabirds of Tasmania. The player controls Taz as he moves through various levels set in different environments. These include a beach, an underwater environment, and a forest. As Taz progresses through each level, he must avoid enemies such as crabs, sharks, and bees while collecting power-ups and bonus items to help him complete his mission. Each level also contains hidden items that can be collected to increase points or unlock secret areas.
In addition to these levels, there are two mini-games which can be accessed at any time during the game. One mini-game has Taz running around trying to collect apples while avoiding other characters from the Looney Tunes cartoons such as Sylvester and Foghorn Leghorn. The other mini-game involves navigating mazes with platforms that move up and down when stepped on.
The goal of each level is to reach the end of it without being killed or running out of time. When all levels are completed successfully, Taz finds a giant egg containing all the lost seabirds of Tasmania which he then returns back safely home.
Overall, Taz-Mania: The Search for the Lost Seabirds is an enjoyable platformer for fans of Looney Tunes or those looking for some challenging platforming action on their Game Gear systems. With its colorful graphics and enjoyable gameplay mechanics, this title is sure to please any fan of classic platformers or Sega’s Game Gear lineup!
