Stunt Race FX is a Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES) racing game released in 1994 by Nintendo. The game features a unique 3D perspective and gameplay that utilizes the FX chip, which was an enhancement chip included with some SNES cartridges. This allowed for more detailed graphics and smoother animation.
The objective of Stunt Race FX is to race against other opponents while completing stunts and tricks along the way. The player can choose from three different vehicles: a car, a truck, or a hovercraft. Each vehicle has its own advantages and disadvantages, such as speed and handling.
The game offers various courses to choose from, including desert, beach, mountain, cityscape and more. Each course has its own obstacles to overcome including ramps, jumps, banks and loops. As the player progresses through the levels they must complete stunts such as flips, spins and barrel rolls in order to gain points. Points are then used to buy upgrades for the vehicles or extra lives.
The graphics of Stunt Race FX are quite impressive given the limitations of the Super Nintendo hardware at the time. The visuals are bright and colorful with each course having its own distinct aesthetic style. The music is also good; it fits well with the fast-paced action onscreen providing an enjoyable soundtrack for racing around each track.
In terms of control scheme, Stunt Race FX uses two buttons on the SNES controller – A for acceleration/braking and B for turbo boost/jump – which makes it easy to pick up but difficult to master due to its tight controls and physics engine.
Overall Stunt Race FX is an excellent racing title that offers challenging courses filled with stunts that will test your reflexes and skill as you race against AI opponents or even friends using local multiplayer mode. It remains one of the most underrated titles on the SNES library due to its limited release but still stands as one of Nintendo’s best racers ever made!
