Hook is a platform game developed by Ocean Software and released for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES) in 1994. The game was based on the 1991 movie of the same name starring Robin Williams as Peter Banning, a grown-up Peter Pan who must save his children from Captain Hook.
The game begins with Peter Banning, now a successful corporate lawyer, returning home to London after being away for work. Upon arriving, he discovers that his children have been kidnapped by Captain Hook and taken to Neverland. Without hesitation, he sets off in pursuit of them.
The player takes control of Peter Banning and guides him through several levels set in different locations throughout Neverland. These levels consist of platforming sections where the player must maneuver around obstacles while avoiding enemies and collecting items such as coins and power-ups. In addition to this, there are also bonus stages which involve shooting enemies with a slingshot or throwing boomerangs at targets.
Throughout the game, Peter Banning can also gain access to special abilities such as flying or swimming which give him an advantage over his foes. Additionally, there are various boss battles which must be completed in order to progress further into the game.
Overall, Hook is an enjoyable platformer that offers plenty of variety and challenge for players of all ages. With its colorful visuals and catchy soundtrack it’s sure to keep gamers entertained for hours on end!
