The Shooting Range is a classic game released for the Nintendo Entertainment System in 1985. It was one of the first games available for the NES and quickly became one of its most popular titles. The game was developed by Intelligent Systems, and published by Nintendo.

The Shooting Range is an arcade-style shooter set in an indoor shooting range. Players take control of a gunner who must shoot down various targets that appear on the screen. The targets include balloons, ducks, clay pigeons, and other objects that appear from either side of the screen at varying speeds. As players progress through the levels, more targets will appear at once and their speed will increase. Players must be quick to shoot them before they disappear off-screen or else they will lose a life.

Players are given three lives per game and can earn additional ones by hitting certain targets or achieving a high score. The game also features bonus rounds where players can earn extra points by shooting at special bonus items that appear on the screen randomly throughout playtime.

The graphics in Shooting Range are relatively simple but still remain colorful and vivid on the NES’s 8-bit system. The sound effects are also basic but effective, with gunshots being heard when each target is shot down and a buzzer ringing when one is missed or ran out of time to hit it before it left the screen.

Shooting Range remains a highly enjoyable game to this day, thanks to its simple yet addicting gameplay mechanics and its colorful graphics. Its popularity has endured since its release over 35 years ago, with many people still playing it today due to its availability on multiple modern platforms such as Wii U Virtual Console and Nintendo Switch Online service.
