Ghoul School is a side-scrolling platformer video game created for the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) in 1992 by Malibu Games. It follows the story of two teenage boys, Brad and Chad, who are recruited by their school principal to clean up an old abandoned schoolhouse rumored to be haunted by ghouls.
The game consists of five levels, each set in a different area of the school. The first level takes place in the classrooms where players must navigate their way around desks and furniture while avoiding monsters that lurk in the shadows. In addition to navigating through these areas, players must also collect items such as keys and power-ups which can be used to advance further in the game.
The second level takes place in the gymnasium where players must battle ghouls using various weapons such as bats and tennis rackets. The third level moves outdoors onto a football field where players must dodge projectiles fired from enemies on the sidelines while trying to make it across the field to safety. The fourth level is located in a graveyard where players must use their wits to avoid being devoured by hungry ghouls while solving puzzles along the way. Finally, in the fifth level players must ascend a tower filled with traps and enemies before facing off against a giant monster at its peak.
Throughout each level, there are several bonus stages which offer additional points if completed successfully. At certain points, players will also come across hidden items such as potions which provide temporary invincibility or extra lives if collected. Additionally, there are several mini-games throughout each stage which can provide players with extra points or special items if won.
Ghoul School offers an entertaining mix of action and puzzle elements that makes it an enjoyable experience for all types of gamers. Its colorful graphics and catchy soundtrack add an extra layer of charm to this classic adventure game from yesteryear’s gaming era. Despite its age, Ghoul School remains one of the most popular titles on the NES system today – offering hours of entertainment for fans of all ages!
