DuckTales 2 is a classic platformer released for the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) in 1993. Developed by Capcom and published by Disney, DuckTales 2 is the sequel to the original DuckTales game and follows Scrooge McDuck as he searches for five lost treasures. The game features improved graphics and sound over its predecessor, as well as a larger world to explore with multiple levels.
The player takes control of Scrooge McDuck, who must travel around the world in search of five lost treasures: The Crown of Genghis Khan from Transylvania; The Lost Lamp from Egypt; The Idol of Montezuma from South America; The Magic Map from Scotland; and The Billion Dollar Bill from Africa. Along the way, Scrooge will need to use his cane to attack enemies, break open crates, and perform various other actions in order to progress through each level. He can also collect coins which can be used to buy items or power-ups that can help him on his quest.
The game plays similarly to its predecessor; however, there are some notable improvements over the original such as new enemies, additional levels, and more varied platforming elements. Additionally, DuckTales 2 introduces an inventory system which allows players to store items they find throughout their journey. These items can then be used at certain points during levels in order to proceed further or solve puzzles.
