Bio Senshi Dan - Increaser Tono Tatakai is a Japanese-exclusive action game released for the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) in 1988. Developed and published by Namco, the game was never released outside of Japan.
The story of Bio Senshi Dan follows a group of four teenage cyborgs who are sent to Earth from their home world in order to protect it from an alien race known as the “Increasers”. The main character is Dan, a young man with an artificial arm and leg who is tasked with leading his team in battle against the forces of evil.
The gameplay consists of side-scrolling levels where players control one of the four characters, each with their own unique abilities. Players battle through enemy forces while collecting power-ups and avoiding hazards such as pits and spikes. As players progress through levels they will face off against bosses at the end of each stage which must be defeated in order to proceed.
In addition to the single player mode, Bio Senshi Dan also features a two-player cooperative mode where two friends can play together simultaneously using either two NES controllers or a single controller with two buttons assigned to each player. In this mode both players must work together in order to defeat enemies and progress through levels.
Bio Senshi Dan received generally positive reviews upon release, praising its graphics and sound design, as well as its fun and challenging gameplay. While not particularly well known outside of Japan due to its limited release, it has become somewhat of a cult classic among fans who have managed to get their hands on a copy.
